A family in Alaska watched in horror as their beloved cabin (pictured) that was built in the 1940s was swept away by the Matanuska River over the Fourth of July weekend.
Residents fled toward the waterside as winds pushed an emergency-level wildfire towards their homes. The town was shrouded in darkness from the smoke before turning an unnerving shade of bright red.
Heavy rain and floods are reported in Kuching and Sebuyau districts while a landslide caused by torrential rain happened in the Song district on Saturday (Jan 11).
