The heavy rains and high water from storm Murdok today and Monday are contributing to the erosion of the old landfill and river bank.

Observation from Jeffrey Luther:

So far in 2022 the 'Old Landfill' erosion is +/-72ft, we're fortunate that it isn't TOWARDS the airport, at the measurement that does go towards the airport is at 24ft 'Road Measurement', between the 'Old Landfill' and 'Road Measurement' about 100ft downstream from the 'Road Measurement', I labeled it: '30 Degree Marker' because it's an angle of about 30 degrees using the airstrip as '0', that place is 6 ft away from my 47 ft marker, telling me that we lost 41 ft there. To address the debris that flowed downstream from the old landfill I got a 3 week job for 6 laborers to pick trash up at the 'Gravel Pit', they will work 7hrs/day, 5days/week for up to 3 weeks.

Water is rising from the remnants of Typhoon Merbok with all the precipitation we are having this morning and will continue to see through the week, and may possibly see Typhoon Nanmadol this weekend and early into next week if it continues its way up towards Alaska. So we are expecting more erosion at the old landfill.

Update 9-21-22:

We have some high water from the remnants of Merbok, so far this high water isn't near the highest water mark we had earlier this summer, I will go down to the cements and mark the high water using tape or spray paint, whichever works better, perhaps both, and if it comes up tomorrow, I will mark it again. The erosion is +/-80ft now after today's measurement was done.
