Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Consult: Mike Rasy with the UAF Cooperative Extension writes, “I can’t tell for sure exactly what type it is, but it is definitely one of our ichneumonid wasps, which is a large family of wasps in the order Hymenoptera. This particular ichneumonid is probably an internal parasitoid of some other insect, including beetles, moths, flies or spiders. They are very beneficial and non-harmful.” A good resource for insect identification is the UAF Cooperative Extension, Pest Program
