Extended monsoon causing flooding and landslides

Kirtipur, Central Region, Nepal

Observation by Sydney Kuhn:

Typically, monsoon season in Nepal lasts from June to mid-September at the latest. However, this year, within the past few days, it has been incessantly raining at the end of September, causing flooding and dry and wet landslides all over the country. As NPR as reported, the death toll due to flooding and landslides is now past 100 people and several are still missing. This is not common for these types of events to occur at this time of year.
