Unusual plant has red buds
Observation: During my evening walk I noticed on bushes there were red apple looking buds growing on bushes so i stopped to take a look at them and this is what i found, I can't tell if there flower buds or seed buds or just a growth on them. We need to know why this is, what this is and how it's going to effect the bushes, how that plant is going to affect the other plants.
Cooperative Extension Service Consult: Gino Graziano, Invasive Plants Instructor writes, "The growth in the picture is a gall. What causes galls isn't possible to determine from a picture. It could be a variety of things, disease, insect or other herbivore damage. Galls are fairly common, and do not typically result in significant damage to the tree."
